Briefly describe your testimony of coming to Christ…
I came to Christ after getting clean and sober in a 12 Step Program. God saved my life through Christ in that program. I came to understand the 12 Steps as a spiritual, Christian rebirth. Having been saved so mercifully and gracefully by our great God, I decided to pursue God’s will. Thus I share the Gospel.
Briefly describe your understanding of God’s calling on your life…
God has called me to serve. I serve our Lord Jesus Christ. I do not know why I was spared the failure of disbelief, but I do know it is God’s will for all believers to serve the downtrodden and oppressed; the poor and needy; the widowed and orphaned, among so many others. I am called to ministry, serving those in need through discipleship and fellowship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
How did you come to the Free Methodist Church?
With my five year old daughter in tow, I was drawn to the church down the street in 2005. That church just happened to be Verdugo Community Church, where I still serve! I fell in love with the rich history of the Free Methodists, the emphasis on social justice, and the theology of Wesley, who brings Christ home with a holy, holistic approach to Christian life and a focus on the Gospel.
